Introducing Missy Dieterich, Director of our new Early Childhood Center

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” ~Proverbs 22:6

April 13, 2018

In an exciting development this year, we are creating a new daycare program, to be housed on the Saint Frances Cabrini campus in the Ed Center (formerly the convent.) We are very pleased to announce that we have cleared the first big step – a committee of parish staff, school staff, parents and parish members with daycare director experience interviewed a number of solid, well-qualified candidates and, are we are pleased to welcome Missy Dieterich, who has accepted the position.

The next steps for the program include developing of a registration form, organizing the Ed Center space, and hiring supporting program staff. As you can imagine, the registrations will drive the number of staff needed to run a successful program. Missy will be providing updates throughout the process, as she works to get the program off the ground. The target date for opening is mid-August of this year.

Missy comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge of the daycare field. We thought we’d give you an opportunity to get to know her a bit, so we asked her to introduce herself.

Dear Friends and Families of St. Frances Cabrini,

My name is Missy Dieterich, and I am so excited to be a part of your school as the new Early Childhood Center director. Please allow me to tell you a bit more about myself. My husband and I reside in Brookfield with our six children, our cat, and two fish. Our four oldest attend a parochial school in Menomonee Falls, and our two youngest will be here, attending the Center beginning in August.

I have been involved in education for nearly 20 years, specializing in Early Childhood Curriculum and Teacher Development. I have worked in a variety of settings over the years, beginning as a “floater,” and working in all classrooms from infants to school aged children. It was in 2008, that I began working in faith-based childcare settings. I founded a pre-school center in Racine, WI, that eventually merged with the parish school. Due to my husband’s job change, we moved an hour away from that center, and I took a position as Director of a nationally-accredited (NAC) and 5-Star Young Star ranked center in Sussex, WI, where I served for 6 years.

I hold Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Loyola University Chicago, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Administration from National Louis University, and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. I have begun doctoral work at Nova Southeastern University, with a research interest in the impact of formal Early Childhood Programs on Kindergarten preparation or Professionalism in the field of Early Childhood Education. I hope to return to that path very soon!

In addition to my degrees, I am a Level 16 on The Registry where I also serve as a Master Trainer and an Ambassador. Additionally, I serve throughout Southeastern Wisconsin as an Early Childhood Consultant for both secular and faith-based programs. I am passionate about early care and education, and am dedicated to learning all I can about this field.
When away from school and work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, doing puzzles, shopping–and finding bargains!

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and working with you, your child(ren), and your families here at Saint Frances Cabrini.

In Christ,
Missy Dieterich, Ed.S., M.Ed.

April 29, 2018 – Update

Dear Friends and Families of Saint Frances Cabrini,

Missy Dieterich, director of Cabrini's new Early Childhood ProgramBy now you have likely heard that I have taken on the role of Director of the new Early Childhood Center. Over the past few weeks, I have been busy meeting new people, and am eager to meet many more. I have also been busy getting things in order for the opening of the new child care center. That being said, I wanted to give you a bit of an update and some opportunities for you to be a part of what is to come!

The name of the center will be Little Saints Early Learning Center. The anticipated grand opening will be on August 15th. Little Saints will care for children 6 weeks through 3 years of age, and will adhere to Wisconsin Licensing requirements. The school’s 3K and 4K, as well as the Before and After-School Care, will fall under the umbrella of this program too. More details to follow as the new school year gets closer. In the meantime, we can use your help in acquiring some toys and equipment for the center. Please see the list on the reverse of this letter, or sign up at the link below.

We have also begun looking for full- and part-time teachers and volunteers. If you or anyone you know might be interested in working with young children, please email me at mdieterich@wbparishes.org, or leave a message for me at the school (262-334-7142).

And, of course, we are enrolling! If you or someone you know is looking for affordable, quality child care in a Catholic setting, email or call me today!

As I continue to work toward setting up our wonderful center, I thank God for all of you and this opportunity. Please keep Saint Frances Cabrini and Little Saints Early Learning Center in your prayers. May He continue to shower His blessings upon us.

In Him,
Missy Dieterich, Ed.S., M.Ed.
