Saint Barnabas, Apostle
Dear Friends at Saint Frances Cabrini School and Parish:
Mr. Waech grew up in Holy Angels Catholic School and has always wanted to work in Catholic Education, especially in his own community that has meant so much to him over the years. He received his education degree from Concordia and is currently enrolled there for his administration degree. His most recent teaching experience has been in Lumen Christi Catholic School, Mequon, in the area of middle school social studies, history, and government. That does indeed make Mr. Waech a brand new school principal here at Saint Frances Cabrini.
In our search and hiring process for this position, the interview team of parents, students, teachers, and parish staff all agreed that in Mr. Waech we were blessed to find the person the school needs to take us to the next level. We were all impressed by his energy, his sense of mission, his eagerness to learn, his natural disposition as a strong leader, his solid Catholic faith, and by his clear love and commitment for the community of West Bend.
Mr. Waech will be especially strong in relationship building and in being an engaging public face of our school in the community. His middle school teaching background, his time as a recent student at West Bend West High School, and his coaching experience equip him to work effectively at meeting the unique needs of our middle school students and families. He is the oldest of seven children which gives him a great heart for the youngest students in our building as well, all the way down to our six-week olds in our new Little Saints Early Learning Center which he intends to visit regularly.
As you know we prayed a novena at the end of May that God would bless us with a holy and gifted leader for our school. I know he is an answer to our prayers not only for the above reasons the committee all agreed on, but also because he made the decision to apply on the final day of our novena, and we hired him on the Feast of the Sacred Heart. That is providence.
I look forward to working with him as a principal. Based on the standard Archdiocesan policies for new principals, Mr. Waech will also have a school leadership team to work closely with him as advisors so that the transition to this position goes smoothly for all. His leadership team in the building will include one of our veteran elementary grade teachers, and one of our veteran middle school teachers, as well as a mentor principal. I am confident that as you all get to know Mr. Waech you will love him for the holy and gifted leader that he naturally is. Please join me in welcoming him and in supporting him as our new principal.
A word from Mr. Waech:
Dear Parishioners, Families, and Students of Saint Frances Cabrini School and Parish,
I feel blessed to introduce myself, William Waech, as the new Principal at Saint Frances Cabrini School. It has been my dream to be involved in education since the second grade and I had no idea the amount of joy and happiness God would bless me with in this career choice. For the past four years I have been growing as an educator at Lumen Christi Catholic School and sought to ensure the success of all my students. I now look forward to supporting the students, staff, and families of Saint Frances Cabrini School.
I was born and raised in the West Bend area and continue to call it my home. I am a proud Holy Angels, West Bend West, and Concordia grad. I am married to my high school sweetheart Brittany, and we have a golden doodle puppy named Finley. In our spare time we love to spend time with our families and especially enjoy weekends camping in state parks.
I am very excited to get started. I am very passionate about Catholic Education and truly believe it is the best place to receive a solid foundation before heading out into the real world. I look forward to working and learning aside families at Saint Frances Cabrini.
Parents, there are a few things that you can expect from me. I am a very positive person. I believe there is good in all and I love to bring it out in everyone I meet. Based on different conversations, it sounds as though Saint Frances Cabrini should be very proud of its accomplishments and has a positive future ahead! Another thing you can expect from me is a very hard work ethic. This is a necessity as I will be learning this job and going to school at the same time. I have always loved to work and look forward to taking on this new challenge.
As I head into this new challenge I have a simple request for you. I ask that you pray for me so that through your prayers and God’s will we can accomplish wonderful things together. I look forward to meeting all of you in the weeks and months to come.
