The purpose of this support group is to provide a safe, caring spiritual environment to encourage individuals and their family members dealing with a mental illness.
It provides an opportunity for people to come together, unburden and share their struggles. Participants discuss the strength they draw from their faith and gain new ideas from others as to how to cope with mental illness. The environment is safe, accepting, respectful, non-judgmental and nurturing.
Confidentiality is essential. Through this healing and holy process of sharing, progress also is made in reducing the stigma wrongfully associated with mental illness.
7:00 to 8:30 PM every third Thursday of the month in the chapel of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
